Check out the Channel 9 Today Show (7-9am) next week when Karonga School will be featured in a campaign Woolworths initiated showcasing their Mini Woolies project. We were only too pleased to be filmed last week and can’t wait to see the final footage. It goes out every day and when it has aired on the first day (Monday Dec 9th) we are allowed to share the clip. We will put it on our website and on the Facebook page. All 9 students filmed had special permission to be included and we are very proud of them.

Term 4 has come around quicker than anyone in Room 2 expected, and it has been a busy one! Karonga was visited by Carlingford High School’s band who performed music for us in the hall. Tim, Jordan, and David danced together to some of their favourite songs while William and Tarnae experienced the music from a more comfortable distance. They had some dress up options where our class was able to be and meet Olaf, Iron Man, and a Storm Trooper!

We were also visited by Channel 9 who wanted to film a segment on Mini Woolies which will air on the 9th of December and be available to view on our Facebook page if you missed it. We go to the Mini Woolies every Wednesday to practice shopping. The boys make a choice from a choice board before we go and use a Karonga Card to “tap to pay” when they are ready to check out. Mark and Farhan have excelled in their patience for lining up and can't wait to check out on their own. David and William have come very far in finding their item and then taking it to the checkout as well.

As the year comes to a close and reports have been finalised, we continue to experience and revise content from all of our subjects including the letter of the week. We have progressed to exploring digraphs and the boys all particularly enjoyed “ng” as we made “King” craft where each of them became a king for the day.

We have also been creating holiday craft to take home to our families and enjoy at school including baking and decorating gingerbread cookies, creating wrapping paper for gifts, and ornaments for home.

We are so proud of how much progress all of the students in Room 2 have made over the course of the year and wish them and their families a beautiful holiday season!
Best wishes,
Montana and Sophie
As Term 4 comes to an end, we are reflecting on the past year and celebrating the achievements of all the students. We are so proud of the progress of the students in Room 13, not only in their class works, but also in their social skills, behaviour, and communication.
This term we have been focussing on turn taking and sharing and it has been great to see the students interacting with each other. Yousif, Sadie, and George all love playing with blocks and have been sharing the set so that everyone gets a turn. Yousif uses them for maths activities, George builds complicated structures, and Sadie enjoys using them like dominoes and making patterns to knock down.

Communication is also going very well in Room 13. Thomas is using his device to make requests and has been expanding his vocabulary. Haley and Matty have also been increasing their communication and love to have a chat with both adults and their peers. Wesley is the newest member of Room 13, joining only a term ago, but he is settling in well, following class routines, and learning how to request his favourite things.

We are still enjoying all our favourite lessons, including swimming, cooking, music, and art therapy. Sadie and George particularly love art, and Wesley has been having a go at many new activities. We loved dancing to the music of Carlingford High School band and dressing up too, Matty was very interested in all the different instruments.

Room 13 will still be working hard in the last few weeks of term before having a good rest in the holidays and getting ready to start the new school year.
Emma and Michelle

The P&C were happy to donate personalized embroidered tops and jackets for the 2025 Year 6 and Year 12 students at the Celebration of Learning assembly. This has been a long standing tradition of the P&C.
The P&C will continue to support the funding of art, swim and music therapies in 2025.
