Hello everyone,
Weeks 4 and 5 have proved very wet and frustrating. The students don’t know why we don’t let them go out to play, and for many they want a new view- not the same 4 walls. They have, however, managed very well, and some classes have taken opportunities when they arise- by playing in the rain wearing their bathers. An inventive way to satisfy student-need.
It was great to see some great learning first-hand when I was visited Room 2 this week- the hand-eye coordination for their fishing game was amazing to see. Well done to Shuyang, Naya, Suzie, Jessica, Tomo and Ria.

We had a meeting this week about the new canteen and celebrated the opening of the Immersive Classroom, which was financially supported by the Epping Club - check out the photographs in the article. It is an amazing resource and offers the potential to bring the community to our students, who often struggle to access it.
Warm regards
Ruth Rogers
Principal
Hello,
My name is Louise Williamson and I am the Room 11 class teacher. This year, we have Rupak as our class SLSO.
Rupak and I welcome back our beautiful students Heba, Haley, Issa, Jedi and Thomas to the 2022 academic year. We are so happy to be sharing this learning journey with them.
All students are so happy to be back. Everyday we start the day with outside playwork. It has been such a pleasure to see Haley and Heba doing so well with their walking. Thomas, Issa and Jedi have thoroughly enjoyed playing on the play equipment.
We then enjoy morning circle, greeting each other and singing songs about the days of the week, months of the year, the weather and what season it is. The children enjoy using books to point at to give the answers.
We have been excited to be getting straight into the 4 blocks literacy program, reading beautiful stories about animals and constructing sentences about what we have read.
A highlight of the week has been our weekly music therapy with Jack. Last week we had it outdoors with Rooms 12 and 13. It was really fun and we enjoyed playing the instruments with our peers.

Hello Karonga Community from Room 13.
This term we have been having lots of fun learning about each other and making friends. We have been doing this through our playwork activities, sport, music and art and craft. Some of our favourite areas in Room 13 are our Reading Corner, practicing our numbers on the board, our computer table and art space. You will see us happily learning in our photos.

We have all been doing our best to learn every day and making our teacher very proud. Thank you to our parents and carers for helping us be our best at school.
Year 7 Vaccination - Monday 7 March
Just a reminder that the Year 7 Vaccination program is being held on Monday at Karonga. NSW Health is also offering the opportunity for catch-up doses missed during Year 7 or 8 for HPV and dTpa vaccinations. Could parents/carers please ensure that the Student Vaccination Record Card has been filled out, signed and return to your class teacher.
Reminder, Room 14 is serving at the Karonga Canteen every Wednesday.
Juice box poppers and packets of popcorn will be for sale every week. Occasionally, on a very hot day, we may offer Zooper Dooper icy tube treats.
All canteen items cost $1 each. Please send in a $2 coin/$5 or $10 note so the students can experience getting change.
