As the calendar turns over to July, we have hit the middle of the year and this has brought us to the end of Term 2. On Wednesday, we celebrated the success of all students at our End of Term Assembly. Congratulations to all award winners and thank you to our families who supported the celebration.
Major construction work continues on the wheelchair ramp, with the concrete pour due in the holidays. The project has been delayed due to wet weather and site access. We are looking forward to the project being completed so we can access the newly refurbished Multi Sport Court and the oval which we have had no access to this term. The construction has limited our play spaces with the bike-track being modified to support the ramp construction. A new bike shed and fencing will boarder the bike track area.
Students each week participate in a number of amazing programs. Without the dedication and support from teachers and school learning support officers programs would not be possible to run. Community access, nursery visits, integration, TAFE, Riding for the Disabled are regular programs enriching student learning. The end of Term 2 saw the completion of the RDA and TAFE programs.
Term 3 commences on Tuesday 23rd July for students. Monday 22nd is a Staff development day where all teachers and School Learning Support Officers are attending the SEPLA Conference, a special education conference with 1300 delegates across the state.
I wish everyone a safe and restful holiday period, and look forward to an exciting and successful Term 3.

Hi from Room 1.
All the students in Room 1 have been working very hard and it certainly has been a very busy term.
Room 1 have been learning to play instruments as a class band to the song ‘Let’s beat the drum’ in Music therapy. Emaan has been learning to play the drum, Jackson has been developing his timing when playing the symbol and Massa and Gianni have been learning to sing the words of the song using a loud clear voice.

Room 1 have been making steady progress with our water program. Louisa, Massa and Emaan have been practising how to kick their legs whilst they are swimming.
We have also been focusing on PBL (Positive Behaviour for Learning) during our morning routine. Titan has been learning to identify pictures associated with what Kind, Safe and Learn looks like in our classroom.

Exciting news! We have purchased 5 new touch screen boards to replace aging/ damaged technology boards in classrooms. The touch screen board will offer multi touch functioning for the students and support student learning. Instillation will occur over the holidays so won’t disrupt student learning.
We are always looking for products and solutions to support students in the classroom, if you have any ideas, products or assistive technology questions, please talk to your teacher so we can investigate further.
During Semester 1 in History, the senior school learnt about the ANZACS, the differences between nurses and soldiers as well as animals in the war. The students used books, the internet and computer programs to find out what soldiers went through during WW1.
They enjoyed using the computer program to match the nurses and soldiers clothes.
